Neuro-Critical Care
Dedicated Neurocritical care units have been developed to provide quality care for ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients who are critically ill. Protocols include the use of Hypothermia in ICU, Intraventricular thrombolysis, TCD monitoring for Vasospasm, Hemicranietcomy for stroke, ICP monitoring & management, Telemedicine and ICU, Prevention of aneurysm rebleeds, and Post-thrombolysis management.
The Texas Stroke Institute is a collaborative initiative that includes eleven North Texas HCA hospitals. Our goal is to develop an effective and resource-efficient plan to reduce the morbidity, mortality and economic burden of stroke in the region. Incorporating medical education and participating in research will establish us as a National Center of Excellence in Stroke.
