Image-Guided Neurosurgery
The BrainSuite combines image-guided neurosurgery with MRI capabilities to allow adequate localization of lesions. Patients with vascular malformations in the brain can now benefit from pre-surgical embolization in the neuro-interventional suite followed by surgical resection in the BrainSuite. Patients can also undergo pre-surgical embolization of tumors to shut down blood supply in the neuro-interventional suite followed by tumor resection at the BrainSuite.
The Texas Stroke Institute is a collaborative initiative that includes eleven North Texas HCA hospitals. Our goal is to develop an effective and resource-efficient plan to reduce the morbidity, mortality and economic burden of stroke in the region. Incorporating medical education and participating in research will establish us as a National Center of Excellence in Stroke.
