Using a one-call system www.HCAXFER.com, patients who suffer stroke are rapidly transported and treated at appropriate facilities as part of a System of Stroke Care. Five of our hospitals are state designated Level II and Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Centers. Three of our hospitals are developing comprehensive stroke capability to offer patients the most advanced and effective neurovascular treatments.
The Texas Stroke Institute is a collaborative initiative that includes eleven North Texas HCA hospitals. Our goal is to develop an effective and resource-efficient plan to reduce the morbidity, mortality and economic burden of stroke in the region. Incorporating medical education and participating in research will establish us as a National Center of Excellence in Stroke.
